LaGRANGE — This year’s Christmas on the Hill at LaGrange College will bring back crowd favorites as well as introduce new events, according to Katie Mosley, director of student involvement and service.

“Of course, Santa and his live reindeer are returning,” she said. “They are becoming a favorite holiday tradition for many people.”

The event will be 5:30–7:30 p.m. Tuesday on the Lewis Library Plaza and Maidee Smith patio.

One of the new activities this year will be an ice skating rink.

“We’ll provide ice skates, free of charge, for anyone who’d like to skate,” Mosley said. “A portable rink will be set up on the library plaza.”

Two visitors from the fictional country of Arendelle will be making a special appearance.

“Elsa and Anna will be here,” Mosley said. “They will be walking around, talking with our guests. They also will be available for snapshots with children.”

Other activities will include Santa sumo suits, a snow pit and holiday crafts, as well as seasonal treats and beverages. The tree-lighting ceremony will be at 6:30 p.m.

Although not mandatory, there is a suggested $5 fee or a canned food item.

“This will go to benefit Our Daily Bread, a soup kitchen created and maintained by our students,” Mosley said.
