Erin Fynan weds Justin Ransom

Erin Elizabeth Fynan and Justin Kyle Ransom were united in marriage at Oakhurst Farms in West Point on July 25.

Dr. Erin Elizabeth Fynan and Mr. Justin Kyle Ransom were united in marriage at Oakhurst Farms in West Point on July 25, 2015. The Rev. Allen Pruitt of Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church officiated the double ring ceremony. Music was provided by cellist Tessa Scanlon and violinist Callie Hammond.

Erin is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Timothy Fynan of LaGrange. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Dorothy Smith and the late Virgil Smith of Pine Mountain, and the late Elmer and Grace Fynan of Riverside, New Jersey. The bride is a 2005 graduate of LaGrange High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Georgia and a medical doctorate from the Medical College of Georgia. She is currently an orthopaedic surgery resident at the University of Alabama – Birmingham.

Justin is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Dean Ransom Jr. of Douglasville. He is the grandson of the late Jack and Lila Thames of Buckhead, and Emmett and Dorothy Ransom of Marietta. The groom is a 2004 graduate of Alexander High School in Douglasville. He earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in counseling from Carson Newman College. He is a special education teacher and the head wrestling coach at Mountain Brook High School in Birmingham, Alabama.

The bride chose her sister, Miss Caitlin Fynan of LaGrange, as her maid of honor. Her bridesmaids were Miss Katherine Lewis, her cousin, of Savannah; Mrs. Brantley Standard of Thomaston; Dr. Heather Ford of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; Dr. Angela Haskins of Birmingham, Alabama; Dr. Caitlin Hester of Dallas, Texas; Miss Kasha Jones of Denver, Colorado; and Mrs. Kimberly Walker of Atlanta.

The groom chose his brother, Mr. Brandon Ransom, as his best man. His groomsmen were Mr. Jake Brumbelow of Royston; Mr. Cody Humphrey of Maynardville, Tennessee; Mr. Shane Arnold of Kennewick, Washington; Mr. Blair Patteson of Knoxville, Tennessee; Mr. Justin Green of Missoula, Montana; Mr. Josh Quinn of Douglasville; and Mr. Mark Whisenant of Douglasville.

The flower girls were the bride’s cousins Clara and Molly Rossell of Richland, Washington. The ring bearers were the bride’s cousins Kieran and Declan Goldfrit of Medford, New Jersey.

A reception was held at Oakhurst Farms. The couple honeymooned in the Dominican Republic and currently reside in Birmingham, Alabama.
