This is with reference to John A. Tures’ column (Dec. 9) titled “A terrorist, but not a Christian terrorist.”

Needless to say, I absolutely agree with him. However, while reading his column, I could almost replace the word “Christian” with “Muslim” every time that it was mentioned. Especially when he wrote that “Even if he claimed to be a Christian, and committed a terrorist act, he wouldn’t be a Christian terrorist”.

Over the matter of killing an innocent being, Islam equates taking the life of one human life with killing all of humanity, prohibiting homicide, mass killings in outright and clear terms. I absolutely agree with Mr. Tures, as he mentioned that religion is getting a bad rap because of a few bad people.

There are over 1.6 billion Muslims in the world, and the actions of a small fraction of hate-worthy individuals do not in any way represent the religion. In fact, hundreds and thousands of Muslims have themselves died at the hands of these so-called religious extremists.

There are thousands of Muslim doctors in America and there are more chances that you will be healed rather than hurt by one.

There is no religion that teaches violence, it’s people who are violent, using the name of religion to cover their criminal and malicious intentions and deeds. We really do need to work together to show the true message and “expose those who use out-of-context snippets to justify their actions as the frauds that they are,” couldn’t agree more with Mr. Tures.
