Mr. Emory Paul Drinkard, 90, of LaGrange, GA passed away Saturday, December 19, 2015 at West Georgia Health System.

Mr. Drinkard was born January 7, 1925 in LaGrange, GA to the late DeWitt Talmadge Drinkard and Eugenia Mae Kelley Drinkard. He served his country proudly in the United States Army Air Corps. Mr. Drinkard received his Bachelor Degree of Music Education from the University of Georgia and was the Band Director for the Callaway Educational Association for a number of years. He shared his talent and passion for music as a teacher at Southwest and Unity schools as well as LaGrange Academy and LaGrange College. Mr. Drinkard worked for numerous music companies, before retiring from Duracell. He was a member of Phi Mu Alpha Honorary Music Fraternity at the University of Georgia. Mr. Drinkard was a former president of the LaGrange Bulldog Club. He will be fondly remembered for the playing of TAPS as an Associate Member of PFC George Eiland Department 1040 Marine Corp League. Mr. Drinkard attended Trinity on The Hill United Methodist Church of LaGrange. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Burgess; brothers, Dr. Eugene Drinkard and Julian Drinkard.

Survivors include his wife of almost 70 years, Mozelle Drinkard; son, Randy (Marianna) Drinkard; grandchildren, Patrick (Carol) Drinkard and Andrea Drinkard; great grandchildren, Connor Drinkard and Aubrey Drinkard; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The Gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday, December 22, 2015 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the funeral home. A private family burial will be held in Shadowlawn Cemetery with Reverend Katie Mattox officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church of LaGrange, GA in memory of Emory P. Drinkard.
