Police investigate shot fired at LaGrange motel

Someone fired a gun at the Super 8 Motel, 29 Patillo Road, after an argument over a woman Tuesday, police said.

“Officers responded and met with an individual who advised they had been in argument over a girl,” said LaGrange Police Lt. Dale Strickland. “They separated and he heard shots fired. They did not see anywhere bullets had hit, but officers recovered a gun in the woodline” behind the hotel.

No one was hurt.

Officers spoke to six people at the motel, including the man in the argument who reported hearing the gunfire. The second person in the argument was not at the scene and there was no charges pending in the incident.

The six people were given trespass warnings to not return to the motel.

Woman finds game system, cell phone in trash

A resident of the 200 block of Wilkes Street reported she was throwing away some trash Tuesday and found a PlayStation 4 video game system, controller and LG cell phone in her trash can. She was unsure where they came from. No value was given for the items. Police took them for evidence storage.

Thefts

• A teen reported about 1 a.m. today that someone entered his unlocked car while it was parked in the 200 block of Boston Drive and stole a Fossil watch, brown LL Bean boots and blue Mountain High Outfitters jacket. No value was given on the stolen items.

• A woman told police Tuesday someone stole her son’s Samsung Galaxy 3 tablet, which was a Christmas present, from the living room of their home on Borton Street. She said she let two people inside the home at an unspecified time and noticed the tablet missing soon after. She had been unsuccessfully trying to contact them.
