LaGRANGE — LaGrange Police Capt. Mike Pheil was warmly surprised at the department’s headquarters Wednesday afternoon by members of the Knit Witz knitting club from the Active Life Center.

Beth Deihl and Elaine Tankersley presented Pheil with numerous knitted scarves and hats.

Pheil is the treasurer of the Troup County Homeless Coalition and a strategic member of the organization’s “think tank.”

According to a news release, the scarves and hats will be donated through the coalition to the various men’s and women’s homeless shelters within the community.
