A contractor called LaGrange police on Monday around 3:30 p.m. after he noticed items had been stolen from a vacant property he was working on in the 600 block of Piney Woods Drive.

The man said a stainless Frigidaire electric stove, stainless Frigidaire dishwasher and 40 feet of copper gas line were missing.

The value of the items was estimated at about $2,000.

The contractor told police this was the first time he had been to the property in two months, although he had other crew members completing work on the home.

Police are investigating.

Building theft

The owner of a kitchen supplies business on Lafayette Parkway called police after he noticed someone stole a section of scaffolding.

The man told LaGrange officers the yellow industrial scaffolding was worth about $250.

He also said some of his employees stated they saw another employee with the item on Jan. 27.

Detectives with LPD’s Criminal Investigation Section are looking into this case.

Credit card fraud

A woman told police someone unlawfully used her BB&T debit card 10 times between Sept. 9 and Nov. 21.

She said whomever used it racked up a debt of $2,986.

The woman stated she has her card and advised that all the transactions made using her PIN, but that she’s never given it to anyone.

Police are investigating.

Stolen car

A woman called police about 1:30 Monday afternoon after she walked out of her home and noticed her boyfriend’s car had been stolen.

The woman told officers the brown and gold 1972 Chevrolet Belair was sitting in the front yard of their house in the 300 block of Hamilton Road.

She stated her boyfriend did not have it because he was currently incarcerated.

Police issued a look-out notice for the vehicle.
