One man faces drug charges after investigators allegedly caught him dealing marijuana out of the trunk of his car Monday afternoon at the Smile Mart convenience store at South Greenwood and Ashton streets.

According to Sgt. Mark Cavender, head of LaGrange Police Department’s Special Investigation Unit, his investigators received an anonymous tip and checked it out. When they arrived at the parking lot, investigators said they could smell marijuana from the car.

SIU investigators spoke with the driver, searched the vehicle and found the suspected drugs, $358 cash and two digital scales.

Officers arrested Mickey Jackson Jr., 35, and charged him with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, which is a felony, and possession of a drug-related object.
