LaGRANGE — Investigators with the Troup County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday continued to catalog a room filled with stolen items, all confiscated by deputies Friday at a home in the 200 block of Boulevard and at a warehouse off Miller Street.

Sheriff James Woodruff showed the property Tuesday morning at the Troup County Sheriff’s Office.

Woodruff said the items were seized from the residence and business belonging to Marco Lloyd, whose age was unavailable, after deputies, along with investigators at the LaGrange Police Department, executed multiple search warrants last Thursday and Friday.

Inside the sheriff’s office, tables were piled high with 10 or more large, flat-screen TVs. Six to eight guitars lined the wall with printers, laptops, cell phones, high-end mixer boards, and audio equipment sat on tables and on the floor along with a rifle, handfuls of jewelry, boxes of DVDs and clothing, credit cards, military IDs, veterans administration cards and the name badge of a Heard County police officer, among other items.

Investigators also opened up a large shed outside the Troup County sheriff’s building that housed dozens more items, mainly lawn equipment like weed trimmers, various yard tools, pressure washers, power saws plus at least 12 cases of Bicardi rum.

Woodruff said Lloyd’s alleged crime spree ran through parts of southwest Georgia and across state lines. Several jurisdictions were involved in catching the alleged burglar, including Troup, Heard, Harris, Meriwether, Chambers (Ala.) and Randolph (Ala.) counties’ sheriff’s offices and the LaGrange, Valley (Ala.) and Lanett (Ala.) police departments.

TCSO investigators said they were contacted by members of the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office last week after they located a stolen iPad in LaGrange.

During the search, some of the TVs, electronics and lawn equipment were discovered in Lloyd’s home.

Investigators believe the recovered property is from burglaries that occurred over three to six months in Troup and surrounding counties.

Sheriff Woodruff said each law enforcement agency worked numerous hours, together and separately, to find suspects.

“They worked tirelessly,” he stated. “They worked covert operations and things that I can’t even tell you about. Monday was a holiday for our county, but the investigators were in the office processing all the equipment and property.”

TCSO investigators said they anticipate more arrests will be made in the case.

Lloyd is currently charged with theft by bringing stolen property into this state and theft by receiving stolen property in another state. Woodruff said more charges could be pending against him.
