Thief steals generators from shed

A man returned to his home in the 200 block of Cooley Road just after 4 p.m. Monday and discovered someone stole two generators from his backyard.

The homeowner told LaGrange police officers he was last at the house about 9 a.m. Saturday.

One of the generators was sitting outside of a shed in the backyard, the victim told police, the other generator was inside the shed, which was forced open. He reported a bench grinder inside the shed was also missing.

The total value of the stolen items was estimated at about $2,000.

LaGrange College theft

Officials with LaGrange College along with LaGrange police officers are investigating who stole four tires off a work trailer parked behind Cleveland Field at 420 Forrest Ave.

LPD officers responded to the area about 8 a.m. Monday after an employee reported the theft. The worker told police the tires were stolen some time over the weekend.

The value of the tires was estimated at about $400.
