LaGrange High’s tennis team made its annual trek to coastal Georgia for the Jekyll Jam tennis tournament that was held over the weekend.

LaGrange’s boys’ and girls’ teams played three matches, and they each went 1-2.

The Lady Grangers beat Savannah Country Day 4-0, and they lost to Glynn Academy 5-0 and Union Grove 4-1.

The Grangers, meanwhile, outlasted Savannah Country Day 3-2, and they fell to Glynn Academy 4-1 and River Ridge 4-1.

Against Savannah Country Day, all of the Lady Grangers won their matches, and Elise Lee and Kelsey Anne Cadenhead were winning at number two doubles when their match was pulled.

Euna Oh won at number one singles, Abigail Brock prevailed at number two singles, and Abbi Lynn Lanier won her match at number three singles.

Lizzie Wilkerson and Kaylee Key won the number one doubles match.

On the boys’ side, it was close, with LaGrange winning both of the doubles matches, and one of the singles matches.

At number two singles, Blade Kendall got a win, and Jas Singh and Tiger Lakhwani won at number one doubles in a match that went to a tiebreaker after the first two sets were split.

At number two doubles, it was Jackson Kuerzi and Pierce Skinner taking the win.

Against Glynn Academy, LaGrange’s lone victory came at number one doubles, with Connor Mahan and Kuerzi winning in a tiebreaker.

For the Lady Grangers, Lanier gave her team a win at number three singles against Union Grove.

For the Grangers, it was Gavin Battle and Kuerzi getting a win at number two doubles against River Ridge.

LaGrange’s teams were back in action on Monday against Newnan.

In the girls’ match, it was Newnan hanging on for a 3-2 victory, and LaGrange won the boys’ match 5-0 to improve to 5-2 on the season.

For the Grangers, Mahan, Kendall and Skinner each won their singles matches, and the teams of Singh and Lakhwani, and Battle and Kuerzi won a doubles match.

The Lady Grangers, meanwhile, won both of the doubles matches in tiebreakers, but they lost the three singles matches.

Wilkerson and Key won at number one doubles, and Elise Lee and Kinsleigh Stephens got the win at number two doubles.
