WEST POINT — West Point Police Department investigators released new details about a botched armed robbery Monday that landed two people in the hospital with gunshot wounds and have the two suspected gunmen allegedly on the run from police.

Investigators said Kwmane Marquez Trammell, 25, and Morquavious Monriqua Brooks, 21, are each wanted on charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault, attempted armed robbery and aggravated battery.

According to West Point police, officers responded to a call of shots fired on East 11th Street just before 10 p.m. Monday.

Police said when they arrived, 911 received a second call from a woman who told dispatchers she and another man had just been shot in an attempted armed robbery in the 1100 block of Avenue I. The woman also said they were both being taken to EAMC-Lanier hospital in Valley, Alabama.

Officers met the victims at the hospital. The woman had been shot once in her right upper thigh and hip area. The man had been shot in his right hand and in the right side of his face, police said.

The man was transported to Midtown Medical Center in Columbus for further treatment and was listed in stable condition.

The woman was treated for her injury and released from the hospital, investigators added.

Police are still searching for Trammell and Brooks. Investigators described both men as African-Americans with black hair, brown eyes and about 5-foot-11. Trammell was described as about 155 pounds and Brooks as about 165 pounds.

Investigators said they are considered armed and dangerous. They were last seen in the area of Avenue I in West Point.

West Point Police are also attempting to locate a vehicle that was seen leaving the area of the incident. The car was described as a black Honda four-door sedan with black hubcaps and a drive-out tag.
