One man ended up behind bars when he started running from LaGrange police for no apparent reason until officers located small bags of drugs he allegedly dropped along the way.

Sgt. Mark Cavender, head of the police Special Investigation Unit, said Tobias Antwoine Strozier, 35, also known as “Lil Pop,” spotted SIU officers driving in their patrol cars down Bell Street Friday night.

According to Cavender, after Strozier ran, investigators decided to pursue him on foot.

Cavender stated the man went behind a house where officers saw him start throwing items as he came back around the front side of the home.

They quickly took him into custody and called out a K9 unit.

The K9 found nine baggies of crack cocaine totaling about 10 grams, a bag of less than an ounce of marijuana and some digital scales, Cavender said.

Strozier was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug-related objects and obstruction.
