Hope for cancer treatment!

I read a lot, and The Kiplinger Letter is very accurate on what is coming down the pipeline. The good news is there are drugs that inhibit a protein that keeps the body from attacking cancer cells.

Keytruda is in late–stage clinical trials for treatment of cancers of the bladder, breast, rectum, esophagus, stomach, head and neck, and multiple myeloma. Opdivo is being considered for 20 types of cancers.

There are 2.3 million people a year that have some form of cancer. Some of these new drugs will be very expensive, $120,000, and will only be used after other forms of medicine have been used. Jimmy Carter, for instance, received both radiation and Keytruda.

All of this is great, but it will put more pressure on Medicaid and Medicare programs. Seven of the most expensive drugs that Medicare covers are for cancer treatment.

I share this with you for we are living in the greatest country in the world and we do solve problems, no matter how big they are, and we will find a way to beat this terrible disease.

Did someone steal your joy today?

I see people in traffic blowing horns and waving their fists at people who do not see or hear them. I hear people come in talking about the dumb person that took three times as long as they should have at the checkout in front of them.

They stay mad for hours and what good does it do? It has messed up their days and several other peoples’.

Make your mind up that you’re not going to let one person ruin your day! Do not give away your good day to someone that does not care or understand they are being dumb.

You say, “Well Jerry I am not going to let people run over me. I will give everyone a piece of my mind!”

The Bible talks about being meek and people think that is weak, but instead it is power under control. You have the strength to handle the problem, but you have self-control to not make a fool of yourself.

You must always remember the eagles do not get down with the chickens, they are above them. Make your mind up that no one is going to mess up your great day. Take time to let that person in front of you in traffic.

Smile, pass on your good positive thoughts each day and your day will be better, I promise. Do not let anyone or anything still your joy!
