HAMILTON — The Friends of the Harris County Library’s spring book sale begins April 15 at 10 a.m. at the library and continues daily through April 23.

The library is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.; Thursday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The library will be closed April 18 for staff training.

Fiction, nonfiction, paperbacks, DVDs and audiobooks are available, with a range of topics including history, biographies, mysteries, romance, cooking, religion and a variety of children’s books. Prices range from $1 and up, with romance novels 10 for a $1 and paperbacks two for a $1.

Money raised from the Friends’ book sales, silent auctions, private donations and membership fees funds various children’s activities at the library like the summer reading program and activities for adults. It also helps reach a goal of building a new library that will be better equipped to meet the needs of residents.

Proceeds from the sales also are used to put free books into the hands of Harris County children through the Ferst Foundation for Childhood Literacy. To date, more than 57,000 books have been distributed.

The library is located at 138 Old College St. in Hamilton.
