LaGRANGE — Three new members have been elected to the boards of trustees of Callaway Foundation Inc. and Fuller E. Callaway Foundation.

The announcement was made Friday by H. Speer Burdette III, president of both organizations.

“All three of our newest board members embody the spirit of community and bring talent, expertise and energy to the table,” Burdette said. “We are very fortunate to have them by our side as we continue to strengthen community in LaGrange and Troup County.”

Charles Hudson Cauble was born and raised in LaGrange. After graduating from LaGrange High School, he attended Emory University and earned a bachelor of arts in history and economics. He also holds a juris doctor from Georgia State University College of Law.

Cauble worked for the Coweta County Public Defender’s Office for six years representing indigent clients charged with felony criminal violations. For the past two years, he has been a partner at Daniels & Cauble P.C. in Newnan, focusing on criminal defense, personal injury and civil rights as the main areas of his practice. He also serves as a member of the Coweta County Veterans Treatment Court.

He is married to Jacqueline Couturier Cauble and they have a son, Hudson, and a daughter, Sophie.

Charles D. Hudson III also grew up in LaGrange, graduating from Woodward Academy in Atlanta and then attending Auburn University. He is co-owner and general manager of C’sons and Mare Sol restaurants in downtown LaGrange.

Hudson is accredited as a Level I sommelier — trained wine professional — and has been instrumental in C’Sons Restaurant receiving of the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence on four separate occasions, Callaway Foundation officials said. In October, Chase worked with the Downtown LaGrange Development Authority to organize the first LaGrange Craft Beer Festival.

He is married to the former Beth Tidwell.

Meredith Craig Key graduated from LaGrange High School then went on to attend Auburn University and earn a bachelor of arts in psychology. She also has a M.S. and Ed.S. in professional counseling from Georgia State University.

Key has worked in various roles with Twin Cedars Youth and Family Services including ropes course instructor, community support individual and clinical therapist. She is currently doing contract work as a clinical therapist for Twin Cedars.

With many community interests, Key serves on the board of directors of both the West Georgia Auburn Club and United Way of West Georgia. She is a member of the Steering Committee for the Merry Market of LaGrange and is on the Organizational Committee for the United Way’s new Women’s Leadership Council.

Meredith and her husband, Mitchell Key, have one son, Porter.

The Callaway philanthropies, with offices in LaGrange, have contributed more than $413 million for religious, charitable, and educational opportunities, primarily in Georgia, with particular emphasis in the LaGrange and Troup County area.
