Dear editor,

It has been brought to my attention that someone else is taking credit for accomplishments in Troup County that were decided and agreed upon while I was still in office. Now to set the record straight:

The last official act I participated in before leaving office was the ground breaking ceremony at the new State Patrol Office on the Parkway.

The fire and rescue equipment was already included in the SPLOST vote before I left office.

The improvements to the convenience centers and where the funding should come from was decided before I left office. Only the voting on the funding was left and a millage rate increase was the result of the vote.

I believe Lewis Davis really wants to serve the people and he will be quick to respond to and address any questions or concerns the people may have.

I have told Lewis on several occasions, the best promise he can make to the people in District 3 is that he will return phone calls and be readily available to them. This is a promise he should have no trouble keeping.

Sincerely,

Ken Smith

Former Troup County Commissioner District 3
