Dear editor,

Four years ago I was in the middle of a campaign for the District 3 commission seat, and what an experience that was!

During that time, I learned a tremendous amount about Troup County. I also met a lot of great people, one of them being Lewis Davis.

It is unfortunate that we didn’t become friends sooner because we agree on the issues that effect our district. If we had not both been involved in that election, I’m sure it would have turned out differently because of our similarities.

I admire the fact that Lewis will not accept defeat and is again offering his service to the citizens. Lewis has a passion for service, a great understanding of the needs in District 3, and the ability to work with others to get things done.

He is a proponent of smart growth while preserving rural Troup County. We need a commissioner that we can be proud of, and I know that Lewis Davis will not disappoint us!
