Editor,

In a few days, we will all go to the polls — or should go — to elect our choice candidate to assume the duties of county commissioner of Troup County District 3. I live in District 3, and I have endorsed Mr. Lewis Davis for this position, and the following reasons are why.

I met Lewis when he was a child during a visit to his home. I was called by his dad to discuss the formation of the Liberty Hill Volunteer Fire Station. Lewis was listening in on the conversation and was excited about building a fire station. He, like any other child, was interested in blowing the siren and running the lights on the fire chief’s vehicle.

Long story short, he still is excited about working with the fire service as well as other services in the county government. I can see the passion he has in being elected each time we meet.

I worked under his dad’s administration during the mid-70s as fire chief and civil defense director. Lewis would like to carry on his dad’s tradition and serve honorably all the people of Troup County.

Lewis has attended almost all meetings of the commissioners in the past few years. I ran against him twice and we both lost, but we are still friends today and I am proud to be his supporter.

Please join me, my family and friends in voting for the best candidate — Lewis Davis.

Thanks,

Tim Duffey

Former Troup County Chairman of the Board of Commissioners
