Have you watered all your flowers today?

My mother loves her flowers, and it is very hot so I go by and water her flowers in the evenings. It is a very good time for us to have a visit and have a little chat.

My question to you: “Have you gotten caught up on watering all your flowers today?” Bet you have an old friend that you have not talked to in the last few days.

Well, what is holding you back from sending him an email or stopping by with something good to sip on while you’re there? I have a very good friend, his name is Jack, and we have solved the world’s problems many times over a glass of bourbon — at least we felt better when we got finished talking about how badly Washington messed things up.

Your way of watering some flowers may be over a game of golf or tennis with an old friend. Or as I do when in slow traffic, I look through my cell phone and call someone that I have not talked to in a long time.

It is also summer time, you may make a church reunion and see a lot of old friends. Guess what, your flower pot may need a little water also.

If you’re doing a good job watering your flowers you will always have lots of beautiful people, and flowers, in your life. I promise!

I was at Lewis Davis’ victory party the other night and a lady came up, told me her name and said, “I wanted to meet the Christian writer.”

I told her that was the best compliment anyone had given me. She went on saying how much I had helped her and some of her friends.

It always makes my hat too small when someone comes up and tells me that I have been a help. I do listen a lot to what people say and read a lot. The article on forgiving people has by far gotten me the most praise.

Bobby Traylor was the person that asked for me to ask people to forget. Someone was mad over a game of checkers and took it to their grave; what a shame.

I am asking each one of you to find time to call an old friend and wish them a great day. Who knows, you may have the biggest smile because you did.

I hope you have a blessed day, I know I am! This was on my fortune cookie today:

“Invest more in your family than the stock market and you will have the biggest gains.”
