LaGRANGE — Troup High School’s Cross Country team members will walk, jog and run their way toward a healthier life while raising funds for their team.

They are introducing a program called My School Color Run. The My School Color Run program aims to go beyond traditional fundraising. Rather than sell goods, the program’s goal to engage the entire student body in a fitness initiative that aims to instill a lifelong healthy way of living.

The color run is set for Aug. 13 at Troup High School, 1920 Hamilton Road, and will be open to the public. This is an untimed fun run with a partial wooded trail.

Racers will pass through several color stations throughout the course and end with a color toss. Interested participants can register for the run by visiting THSMSCR.eventbrite.com or by completing a paper registration form prior to the event.

Anyone interested in more information can visit the Eventbrite site or Troup High School Facebook page at facebook.com/trouphighschool for information regarding the run.

The My School Color Run is an untimed fun run featuring an about 3-mile course with a 1.25-mile wooded trail. Throughout the course, participants will experience color splash zones where they will be doused in colored powder and end with a final color toss celebration.

Check in starts at 7 a.m. The run begins at 8 a.m. A Fun Walk begins about 8:15 a.m.

Registration includes a race bib, color packet and T-shirt for those who sign up before July 26. Participants can pick up their items at the registration table the day of the event. Paper registration forms are available upon request. Early registration cost is $25. Tickets are limited.
