Car crash injures 2

LaGRANGE — Two people are recovering Friday morning after their cars collided at the traffic signal in front of Publix on Commerce Avenue, causing one to careen out of control and down a small embankment.

The crash happened at about 2 p.m., according to LaGrange Police officers. The driver of a newer model dark gray Chevy Camaro was attempting to turn left out of the Publix parking lot onto Commerce Avenue when it collided with a black Toyota Camry traveling on Commerce Avenue.

The crash spun the Camaro around, down a small hill and into a tree next to the parking lot of the Jumbo Chinese restaurant.

Both drivers complained of aches and pains, according to LaGrange Police. They were both taken to WellStar West Georgia Medical Center by ambulance for treatment.

Their conditions are were unavailable at press time.

Officers at the scene said they were given conflicting reports by each driver. Both told police they had a green light to enter the intersection when the accident occurred.

Police are investigating.
