Sorority gets SASSY with program

SHARPSBURG — On May 21, the members of the LaGrange Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. held their annual SASSY Program.

Students Achieving Successfully and Scholastically as Youth workshops engage in topics like dress for success, positive community service and student involvement, the perfect interview and how to complete a job application and HIV awareness and other health issues.

These workshops were conducted for teens in the Coweta, Troup and Chambers (Ala.) counties. The SASSY program was held at the East Coweta High School and had over 30 attendees.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. is a public service organization, the LaGrange Alumnae Chapter gives scholarships to seniors at Troup, LaGrange, Valley (Ala.) and Lanett (Ala.) high schools, and Newnan, Northgate and East Coweta schools.
