Having spent 47 years teaching the students of LaGrange and Troup County, I am acutely interested in the education of the youth of our area. This year’s Board of Education election offers the opportunity to vote for an immensely qualified educator for a seat on the Board. I urge everyone in her district to vote for and elect Cathy Hunt to this important position.

I have known Mrs. Hunt for many years. In many ways her position with the English Department at Troup High School paralleled mine at LaGrange High School. Since we often worked together, I gained a great deal of respect and admiration for her and for her dedication to her students. I am certain that she will be just as dedicated to all of the students and teachers of Troup County when she is elected to the Board of Education.

Cathy Hunt knows about education because she has spent so many years in the profession. She will offer an essential perspective on the topics the Board must consider, one that will focus on what is best for students and teachers. That, of course, is what the Board of Education is supposed to do.
