Shots fired in West Point

Investigators with the West Point Police Department are searching for the gunman who fired a weapon on Frank Hall Jr. Street on Monday morning, striking a house and a car.

Officers responded to the area after receiving a call of someone discharging a firearm near the residence.

Police searched the property and found damage to the home and one of the vehicles parked near the house that was the result of gunfire, said investigators.

No one was hurt during the incident.

Police were investigating.

Thefts

• A woman reported Monday morning her 1997 black Mercury Mountaineer SUV valued at $2,500 was missing from the driveway of her home in the 100 block of Watson Street. She said one of the door handles was broken and unlocked.

• An employee from Nations Towing at 1631 Whitesville Road called police Monday morning after discovering someone stole two automotive jacks from a work truck over the weekend. The tools were valued at $600.

Damaged car

The manager of All Pro Chevrolet at 709 New Franklin Road told LaGrange police Monday morning he discovered someone had shattered the driver’s side window to a 2008 Chevy HHR. Police believed the vandal threw a large rock through the window, causing an estimated $300 in damage.
