Man allegedly threatened over Facebook post

A man met with LaGrange police officers after he claimed someone threatened him on Facebook and by text message on Monday.

The man said the harassment started after he posted a statement on Facebook that said, “Woodruff for Sheriff,” according to the police report.

Right after that comment, the man said a woman threatened to harm him and posted a picture of his home on Facebook, officers said. She also sent the same message and picture to his phone.

In the message, the woman allegedly wrote that she “came to the residence but that he (victim) must have been scared and hiding somewhere.”

Police are investigating.

Burglary

A woman called police after she arrived to her house in the 200 block of Beechwood Circle about 9:15 p.m. Monday and noticed someone had kicked in her home’s rear door and the lights were on.

LaGrange police cleared the home and determined no one was inside.

The burglar ransacked some of the bedrooms and kitchen cabinets, officers said. A flat-screen TV valued at $50 was the only item reported stolen.

Entering auto

A man called LaGrange police after realizing someone broke into his Jeep Wrangler sometime Monday at Woodland Trail apartments, 140 N. Davis Road.

The driver said when he walked outside, he noticed the soft top of his Wrangler was unzipped and a Garmin GPS system valued at $500 that was attached to the windshield was missing, a police report states.

Rock thrown through car window

A car owner walked out of the Emory at LaGrange clinic at 303 Smith St. about 6:30 p.m. Monday to find someone had thrown a rock through one of the windows on her Jeep Wrangler.

A rock was found lying in the rear cargo area of the Jeep, said LaGrange police.

Police estimated the damage was less than $500.
