LaGRANGE — One man is dead and police are searching for the suspected gunman after a fatal shooting in the first block of North Cary Street about 7 p.m. Sunday.

Quentin D. Williams, 25, of Wood Glenn Apartments at 64 N. Cary St., was discovered by LaGrange police officers lying on the sidewalk down the street from his apartment complex with multiple gunshot wounds, said police investigators.

Officers and EMTs attempted to revive Williams at the scene and he was taken to WellStar West Georgia Medical Center, but he was deceased, investigators stated.

Witnesses told investigators they saw Williams speaking with an unidentified African-American male just before gunshots were fired. Witnesses then saw Williams lying on the sidewalk and the other male running toward Hogansville Road.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the LaGrange Police Department at 706-883-2603 or Troup County Crime Stoppers at 706-812-1000. There is a reward for information leading to an arrest in the case – and you can remain anonymous.
