Man snatches money from woman

A woman told LaGrange police just after 2:30 p.m. Wednesday a man grabbed $5 out of her hand in the 400 block of Pine Street and took off.

According to the report, the suspect ran toward Alford Street.

The victim was not hurt in the incident.

Police were investigating.

Dog discovered with embedded collar

The Troup County Marshal’s Department brought a yellow husky-shepherd mix dog to the LaGrange Animal Shelter at 1390 Orchard Hill Road just after 6 p.m. on Thursday.

Law enforcement officers found the dog with an embedded chain around its neck, the police report states.

Animal Control officers took pictures of the animal before it was taken to an area veterinarian for medical treatment.

Entering auto and theft

A man called police about 1:15 p.m. on Thursday after discovering someone stole items out of his Ford truck that was parked in front of a home in the 400 block of Margarite Street.

The man stated a pair of Leupold Wild Rider Binoculars, a Kenwood CD player, an after-market dash insert for the vehicle and a radar detector were taken from his truck, according to the police report.

The estimated value for all the items was $950.

Truck damaged

A man discovered someone threw a large chunk of concrete at his 2015 Ford F-150 pickup truck and damaged the vehicle outside a home in the 600 block of Arthur Street about 10 p.m. Thursday.

LaGrange police noticed the concrete hit the cab and shattered the rear glass of the truck, according to the report. The chunk of concrete was still sitting in the bed of the F-150.

The homeowner estimated the repairs to his truck would be at least $500.
