Mrs. Florine Costley Prather Bowen, age 83, of LaGrange, passed away on September 22, 2016 at her residence.

Mrs. Bowen was born on January 5, 1933 in Franklin to the late Oscar Lee Costley and Essie Harris Costley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Ervin Prather, B.J. Anderson and only four days ago by Ira Bowen; sister, Rosa Lee Yates; brothers, Gordon Costley and Ray Costley. Survivors include her daughters, Gail Smeby (Harold) of LaGrange, Diane Walker (Larry) of LaGrange and Lisa Hill (Jerry) of LaGrange; grandchildren, Angela Skipper (Chuck Billingsley), Telina Robinson (Robbie), Mary Ann Lyon (Stephen Lawhon), Jonathan O’Neal (Jie), Brandy Walker (Eddie Carmody), Jeremy Hill (Nikki), Jessica Brandon (Brent), Luke Hill (Brittany Jennings), Sally Johnson (Roger); 11 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren; step children, Annette O’Kelley (Monty) and Marie Clark (Brad); 4 step grandchildren; extended family and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 3:00 pm at the Baptist Tabernacle with Rev. Jimmy McMillian officiating. Interment to follow at Shadowlawn- Hillview East. Family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5-7 pm at Baptist Tabernacle. Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to the Baptist Tabernacle Food Ministry, of which she was such a vital part.
