Follow up: Elderly woman found deceased

An autopsy performed by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation on an elderly woman found deceased outside her home on Grayson Trail showed she died from natural causes, stated Troup County Sheriff James Woodruff.

A caretaker found the woman’s body on the back porch of her home just before 6 p.m. on Thursday.

It appeared the woman had been deceased for several days, according to Woodruff. For that reason, her body was sent to the GBI crime lab in Atlanta for an official autopsy.
