Redesign sparks collaboration

LaGRANGE — People milled about in the surprisingly bright and airy lower level of the Abbott building Friday as members of the community gathered to welcome Cpak Technology Solutions to its new office space.

The office space was redesigned by Cpak, which has been using it as its new headquarters, even before its grand opening and ribbon cutting. The space featured screens that looked like windows looking out over picturesque bridges and an open conference room designed to encourage collaboration.

“The open layout, that was exciting for us, too, because it helps us collaborate,” said Cpak Chief Executive Officer Philip Abbott. “I think even we’ve been down here about a month-and-a-half now, and I think it’s already fostered increased connections between employees and relationships and — even people that we bring in to work here — we have a better atmosphere to be able to get better collaboration.”

Cpak offers services such as networking, security, server and storage solutions and system upgrades. While located in LaGrange, it does business all over the southeast for governments and private companies.

Most of Cpak’s 14 employees were on site for the ribbon cutting.

“Cpak has been around for more than 30 years now,” Abbott said. “We have evolved over that time frame, and our focus for the last 15 years has been technology infrastructure, so the things that make our modern world work — the networks, the servers, the data — we help to provide those services and prepare those services.”

Abbott’s father, Cpak owner and chamber member Wayne Abbott, also took part in the ceremony celebrating the new office space.

Cpak is a member of the local chamber of commerce, and chamber representative Marc Acree credited the company with building connections for other local businesses.

“We are recipients of fantastic service of Cpak,” said LaGrange Troup County Chamber of Commerce President Page Estes. “Philip (Abbott), your entire team assists us in our needs anything technical. We don’t know how to do it, so we have to call Cpack. So, we so appreciate what you do for all of us.”

Cpak is located at 133 Main St. For more information, visit cpaksolutions.com or call 706-883-7664.
