Man allegedly assaults girlfriend in front of children

Battery

LaGrange Police issued arrest warrants on a man wanted for beating up his girlfriend in front of their two children inside a home in the 1100 block of Troup Street around 1:15 a.m. on Sunday.

The victim told officers she attempted to break off the couple’s seven-year relationship when the man allegedly grabbed on to her shirt and threw her on the ground.

The woman then asked her former boyfriend to leave the house when he reportedly threw her against a bedroom wall and then into a TV stand, a report stated.

The victim told LaGrange Police her two young children were laying on a bed inside the room and witnessed the entire altercation.

Officers noted the woman had a laceration on her right elbow and blood stains on her T-shirt, according to a report.

The man then left the home. LaGrange Police attempted to track him down – but had no success.

Officers obtained warrants and charged the man with one count of battery under the Family Violence Act and three counts of third degree cruelty to children.

Aggravated battery – update

One man remains in a Columbus hospital after he was severely beaten by two people at a home in the 100 block of Grady Street around 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.

A witness at the home told LaGrange Police the two suspects allegedly knocked at the front door and the victim let them inside.

A short time later, the witness said they heard a lot of “banging around” in another room, the police report stated. When the witness went to check on the victim, they saw the suspects allegedly stomping on the man’s face and body, according to LaGrange Police.

The pair then fled the scene.

The witness stated she believed the two suspects were accusing the victim of stealing something from them, the report read.

The man was so badly injured, he could not communicate with LaGrange Police officers, according to the report.

The victim was airlifted to a Columbus hospital with several facial fractures, a report stated.

Entering auto

A man told LaGrange Police someone broke into his silver Nissan Pathfinder and stole two electronic items while the car was parked at the Lee’s Crossing apartment complex at 119 Old Airport Road on Sunday.

The man claimed his iPad and Macbook Pro were taken from his car, a report stated.

The estimated value of both items was $700.
