Winners stand out at fall events

LaGRANGE-

The Halloween festivities that took place at Sweetland Park on this past Saturday produced a slew of winners from the annual fall activities with a huge crowd looking on. There were winners from all age groups in events like the Downtown Scarecrow Contest, which is judged seperately from Saturday’s events, as well as the Chili Cookoff, and Costume Contest.

Winners for the Scarecrow Contest:

  • Most Original Scarecrow — “Burlap Designs Scarecrow” by Teri Rockel (corner of South LaFayette Parkway and Bull Street)
  • Best Game Day Scarecrow — “Safe at Home” by Harmony House (Bull Street)
  • Best Representation of Business — “Merle Diva” by Merle Norman (Vernon Street)
  • Best Representation of Organization — “Say BOO to the Flu!” by District 4 Health Services (Main Street)

Winners for the Chili Cook Off:

  • Judge’s Choice for Best Chili — FLI (Family Lifestyle Investment) Properties
  • People’s Choice for Best Chili — CharterBank
  • Best Decorated Booth — American Home Shield (Circus Tent Theme)

Winners for the Costume Contest (There were 198 registered contestants):

0-12 month winners

  • Boys winner — Flintstone’s Pebbles & Bam-Bam – Mikenlee Bowen & Wyatt Bowen
  • Girls winner — Raggedy Ann – Kinleigh Jordan

1 to 4 year-old winners

  • Boys winner — Edward Scissorhands – Jude Clegg – age 2
  • Girls winner — Lil’ Old Lady – Ensley Murphy – age 2

5 to 9 year-old winners

  • Boys winner — Fire Truck – Ethan Franklin – age 7
  • Girls winenr — I Love Lucy – Marlee Elliot

10 to 12 year-old winners

  • Boys winner — Bilbo Baggins – The Hobbit movie series – Isaac Parnell – age 11
  • Girls winner — Mobile Veterinarian – Alexis Franklin – age 10

Overall Grand Prize winners

  • Boys winner — Edward Scissorhands – Jude Clegg – age 2
  • Girls winner — Lil’ Old Lady – Ensley Murphy – age 2
