Man allegedly chokes coworker

A man told LaGrange Police his colleague attacked him without provocation while they were working inside Sejong Georgia LLC at 1641 Lukken Industrial Drive about 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

The man claimed his coworker started choking him while they were both inside the locker room, the report stated.

According to the victim, the man grabbed his throat and applied so much force it caused him to fall to the floor, the report read.

The colleague eventually stopped and walked away, the victim told LaGrange Police.

The man said this was the second time his colleague attacked and choked him in the last six months, a report stated.

Police are investigating.

DUI arrest

One driver was arrested on the suspicion of DUI during a routine traffic stop about 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday along New Franklin Road near Commerce Avenue.

A LaGrange Police officer stopped the car while he was running radar on New Franklin Road, a report said. The officer stated the vehicle was traveling almost 20 miles over the speed limit and weaving on the road.

The officer smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming from the driver’s side window when he approached the car, according to the report.

The driver failed a field sobriety test and blew a .18 into the Breathalyzer, the report stated.

The officer also found two cold bottles of Bud Light in the glove box inside the man’s car, a report read. One of the bottles was half full.

The driver was arrested and charged with DUI – less safe and open container – both misdemeanors. He was also given a speeding ticket.

Car parts stolen from auto shop

The owner of the Reed Auto Body shop at 1419 Hogansville Road claimed someone stole tires and rims from a customer’s car between 7 p.m. on Tuesday and 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

The parts were taken off a 1985 Chevrolet Camaro, the report stated.

The owner said the four, 22-inch rims and tires were valued at $2,800.

Public intoxication

A man was kicked out of the Kroger store at 203 Commerce Avenue for reportedly being intoxicated and causing a disturbance.

The store manager told LaGrange Police the man was inside the store, drinking beer and cursing, a report stated.

When officers approached the man, he was allegedly carrying two beers and told police people were “messing with him because he was elderly,” according to the report.

LaGrange Police also responded to the McDonald’s at 146 Commerce Avenue earlier in the day for the same man causing a disturbance inside the restaurant, a report stated.

Officers cited the man for public drunkenness and called him a cab to take him home.
