PINE MOUNTAIN – A local author who has written a book on Pine Mountain will hold a book signing Friday.

Chloe Sanguine, a north Georgia resident, is the author of “The Destiny Ring: A Story of Pine Mountain.” The book is currently in a paperback and kindle version on Amazon.com for purchase.

Sanguine, who is also a singer, songwriter and a Native American artist, says visiting the peaceful town a number of times gave her the motivation to write a book.

“I got my inspiration from visiting Pine Mountain. I wanted to do something for the community,” said Sanguine. “I chose to write about Pine Mountain simply because it is such an amazing place.”

The 74-page book contains a glipse of Pine Mountain’s history, some of the town’s notable places like Callaway Gardens and the Wild Animal Safari, as well as a story on friendship and love that Sanguine tells.

Pine Mountain is a small West Georgia town located in both Harris and Meriwether counties, with an estimated population of 1,344.

“It took me a year to work on this book, to do special research and visit with a lot of people in the community to get their thoughts on Pine Mountain,” said Sanguine. “It wasn’t easy.”

To introduce the book to the public, Sanguine will hold a book signing 6 p.m. Friday at the Dog Gone Good Bargains thrift store in Pine Mountain at 102 Commerce St. Refreshments will be served.
