Mr. Willie Joe Sims Jr. of Valdosta, Georgia passed away Thursday, November 24, 2016.

 

Mr. Sims, a native of LaGrange, was the son of the late Willie Joe Sims Sr. and Martha Peterson Sims Roberts.  He was a graduate of Dunbar High School in Dayton, Ohio and owner and operator of a cleaning service.

 

Survivors include one sister, Yolanda Sims, Eaton, Ohio; children: Willie Joe Sims III, Colorado; Kitty Hooper, Walter E. Sims and Cara D. Sims, all of Dayton, Ohio; grandchildren: Ciara Dickerson, Reynoldsburg, OH; Mariah Dickerson and Kendal Moon, Dayton, OH; a devoted former wife and many loving and supportive cousins who warmly called him “Joe”.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, James Roberts; and brothers: Roland “Pee Wee” Roberts (Phyllis), and Robert Heard.

 

The Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be Saturday at 1:00PM in the chapel of Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home.
