Memorial services for Austin Kirby, age 71, of LaGrange, Georgia, formerly of Roanoke, will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2016, at 11:00 AM (CST) from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Bill Prince, Jr., officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00-11:00 AM on Saturday, December 17 before the service.

Mr. Kirby passed away Sunday, December 11, 2016, at his residence.

Survivors include his wife, Jane Hanvey Kirby of LaGrange; one daughter, Emily Olinger and her husband, Rusty of LaGrange; one son, Dr. John Kirby and his wife, Angela Warden of Jefferson City, TN; four grandchildren; and three sisters, Frances Bailey of Heflin, AL. Joyce Prince of Roanoke, AL, and Betty Moon of Roanoke, AL.

A Roanoke native, Mr. Kirby was born on February 10, 1945, the son of Jadie Austin Kirby, Sr., and Mildred Taylor Kirby.  He was a member of Rock Stand Congregational Christian Church and worked as a production planner at Milliken.  Mr. Kirby was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Martha Murphree.
