Velmar Virginia Faught

Mrs. Velmar Virginia Faught, 81 years old, of West Point, GA passed away at her home on December 13, 2016. Mrs. Faught was born in Chambers County Alabama on February 27, 1935, to William Leonard Taylor and Beulah Beatrice Lawhorn. She is survived by 2 sons Solomon O’Neal Hamby (Muriel) of Norcross, GA and Timothy Wayne Faught (Chris) of Serbia, 2 daughters Kathey Bridges of Valley, AL and Wanda Davis (Ted) of Atlanta, GA, 12 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. Mrs. Faught was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease and had been cared for by her granddaughter Niki Hamby and was able to remain at home. She was active in her church. Mrs. Faught loved cooking, gardening, and her family. She was preceeded in death by her parents, her husband Thomas W. Faught, 1 sister Lurlene Knowles, and 1 brother William Solomon Taylor. Visitation will be at McCarthy Funeral Home in West Point, GA on Friday, December 16, 2016 from 6pm-8pm. Funeral will be at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Valley, AL on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 11am. Flowers will be accepted, but the family requests donations be made in memory of Mrs. Faught to the Alzheimer’s Association.
