Mr. Archie D. Arrington, 85, of LaGrange, GA died Monday, December 19, 2016 at Hospice LaGrange.

 

Mr. Arrington was born July 16, 1931 in Woodland, AL, son of the late Joseph Arrington and Lela Edmondson Arrington.  He was a member of Callaway Baptist Church and was retired from West Georgia Medical Center, maintenance department.  Mr. Arrington was a member of the First Baptist Church Merry Makers, Active Life Senior Center, Callaway Leisure Timers, and enjoyed woodworking.  Mr. Arrington was a veteran of the U.S. Army.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Charles A. Arrington, one sister, Mary Nell Thompson, and four brothers, Arnold Arrington, Levert Arrington, Ervin Arrington, and Orbie Arrington.

 

Survivors include his wife, Vivian Mobley Arrington of LaGrange; daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Terry White of LaGrange; son, Mark Arrington of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; brothers and sisters-in-law, Chuck and Joyce Beebe of Warner Robins, GA, Hugh and Janette Mobley of LaGrange, Harold and Linda Mobley of LaGrange, and Roy Thompson of LaGrange; grandchildren, Christy and Steve Rhode, Kim and Brandon Scott, and Jason and Crystal White; great grandchildren, Colby Scott, Anna Scott, McKenzie Murphy, Carson Murphy, Taylor Dollar, and Tyler Dollar; and several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Callaway Baptist Church with Rev. Brad Thompson and Rev. S.T. Janney officiating.  Burial will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery.  The gathering of family and friends will be on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Callaway Baptist Church, 310 John Lovelace Road, LaGrange, GA 30240.

 

Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to West Georgia Hospice or Callaway Baptist Church Building Fund in memory of Mr. Archie D. Arrington.
