Charles Levi Bailey, 68, departed this world on Saturday, December 17, 2016 after an extended illness.

Charles is survived by his parents, Elliott G. and Frances Rivers Bailey of LaGrange, GA; brothers Roger Bailey of West Point, GA and David Bailey of Hogansville, GA; sisters Karen Bailey Sinyard of Griffin, GA and Pamela Bailey Kennemore, of Atlanta, GA; Kathleen A. Bailey of Fairview, NC, former spouse, friend and longstanding caregiver; daughters Kimberly Bailey Zwaagstra of Decatur, GA and Kelly Bailey Caudle of Mars Hill, NC; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Charles, a former Marine, served in Vietnam where he received a Purple Heart.  After moving to Asheville, NC in 1978, he sold building material for Moore’s and in later years sold building supplies for Lowe’s.  He enjoyed playing golf, keeping track of NFL football, playing cards and was devoted to several canine companions throughout the years.
