David Pye age 67 of Loganville, GA. stepped into the presence of his Savior on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at 8:44 AM.  David was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Betty Pye. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary of 47 years; 2 children, daughter, Jennifer (Pye) DeSaussure and husband Bill DeSaussure, and one grandson, Wyatt DeSaussure of Douglasville, GA, son, Richie Pye and  his wife Christin (Rebhann) Pye, and granddaughter, Shelby Pye and grandsons, Colton and John David Pye of Monroe, GA.; sisters Sharon Fredriksen (Harold), Shelia Saunders (Rodney) and a brother,  Stanley Pye (Milly); as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. David is also survived by two special aunts, Barbara Anderson and Kathryn Pye. David achieved the rank of Specialist while serving for 2 years in the Army, from March of 1969 to March 1971.  David proudly served as a Police Officer for 27 years.  He served 14 years with the Atlanta Police Department and 13 years with the Gwinnett County Police Department.  After his retirement , he was an active member of Atholl  Highlanders Pipe & Drum Band playing the tenor drum.  He enjoyed camping, hunting, Nascar and most of all spending time with his family.  He will forever be missed and always in our hearts. The funeral service to honor and celebrate the life of David Pye will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel. Graveside services will be held also on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 beginning at 3:00 PM at Shadowlawn Cemetery, LaGrange, GA. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Tom M.
