Lue Ella Downer

Lue Ella Downer, 84, of Lagrange passed away on Wednesday at Atlanta Medical Center South.

 

Mother Lue Ella Downer the daughter of the late Inez and J D White was born in Roanoke, AL.

 

At an early age the family relocated to Dayton, OH. where she received her education, met and married John Downer and relocated to Detroit. MI.

 

While in Michigan, she was a Founding Member of  Greater Apostolic Faith Temple  serving 40 years and to date was the oldest founding member.

 

Mother Downer was instrumental in establishing Bethlehem Temple and Faith Temple Church of Deliverance in Lagrange.

 

Survivors include her husband John Downer of Lagrange, five sons; Donald Brewer (Delores) of Dayton, OH, Norman Downer (Eloise) of Lagrange, Anthony Brewer and Steven Downer of Atlanta, and Victor Swanson of Detroit, MI, two daughters; Vanessa Hicks of Detroit, MI. and Sheila Downer-Rainey of Atlanta, two sisters; Linda Fay Anderson of Dayton, OH. and Brenda Gipson of Southfield, MI., 16 grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter Cheryl Brewer, son Larry Brewer, two sisters, three brothers and one brother-in-law.

 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1pm at Faith Temple Church of Deliverance with the Bishop Albert Jackson, eulogist and Apostle C.M. Chivers presiding.

 

The interment will be in Southview Cemetery.

 

The family will receive friends at the home of her husband at 123 Old Airport Road #302.
