Ms. Effie Bea Cole passed away from this world to her heavenly home on January 2, 2017 at Hospice LaGrange. Born April 8, 1919, she lived a full and joyful 97 years. She was the daughter of the late Lizzie and Noah Folds. Born in Roanoke, Alabama, she was the third oldest of 10 children and was preceded in death by sister Myrtie Yearwood and two brothers, C.G. Folds and Jerry Folds. Surviving sisters and sister-in-law are Ruby Thompson, Jewell Bartlett, Carolyn Flourney and Irene Folds.

Mrs. Cole married the love of her life Robert S. (Bob) Cole August 31, 1946. He passed away in 1988.

Survivors include DeLaney Ayers and husband Tommy; Melvis Cole and wife Lillie; four grandchildren, Stephanie McLain, Justin Cole and Kristen, Sean Ayers and Anna, and Morgan Ayers; great-grandchildren Abigail McLain, Ansley McLain and Samantha Cole.

She loved her family, friends and church. Her love was for other people. When she felt lonely she found someone to visit sharing cheese straws, fried pies, or other homemade goodies. Her family was her world. Her home and front porch was always a welcome place for all.

Funeral services will be January 4, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church. Visitation is two hours before the service. There is also a visitation at Stutts Funeral home in Franklin, GA on January 3 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to St. Jude’s Hospital in memory of Mrs. Cole. Condolences may be expressed at www.stuttsfuneralhome.com. Family will gather at the home of Mel & Lillie Cole 264 Doc Fisher Road, Franklin, GA.
