Mrs. Paula Jo Kirkwood Martinec, 80, of LaGrange, passed away January 2, 2017 at West Georgia Medical Center, LaGrange. Paula was born in Hubbard, Ohio on August 10, 1936, the loving daughter of the late Clarence and Mable Kirkwood. Paula graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in nursing from Youngstown State University. She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and worked many years as a nurse at West Georgia Medical Center.

 

Paula was survived by her loving husband John R. “Jack” Martinec Sr.; sons John R. “Jack” Martinec Jr. and wife Sharon of LaGrange, Jeffry Martinec and wife Alicia of Fort Worth, Texas; daughter Janet C. Hesketh and husband Terry of Georgetown, Indiana; brother Clarence Kirkwood and wife Dottie of Naples, Florida; grandchildren Jacob S. Martinec and wife Victoria of Columbus, Georgia, Jordan C. Martinec and fiancée Heather Heath of LaGrange, Alana Martinec of Fort Worth, Texas, Jarrett Hesketh and Jaclyn Hesketh of Georgetown, Indiana; sister-in-law Pat Martinec of Poland, Ohio.

 

She was preceded in death by her son James Jacob Martinec.

 

Visitation will be held Friday, January 6, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, with Mass of Christian Burial to follow by Father Patrick Scully. Burial will follow at Rest Lawn Memory Gardens.
