Man robbed during chokehold

A man claimed he was robbed while he was walking through the Tall Pines apartment complex at 150 Turner Street just before 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

The victim told LaGrange police a male came up behind him and placed him in a choke hold, according to the report.

The suspect then allegedly reached into the victim’s pocket and stole $10 in cash plus a set of ear buds before taking off on foot, the police report stated.

The victim told LPD detectives a black bandana was covering part of the suspect’s face.

Police are still investigating.

 

LPD officer’s gun stolen

A LaGrange police officer reported his department-issued weapon was stolen out of his personal car sometime between Dec. 30 and Jan. 1.

The incident happened in Columbus and was also reported to the Columbus Police Department as an entering auto/theft, according to the report.

The weapon was entered into the Georgia Crime Information Center and listed as stolen, the LPD report said.

 

Car windows damaged

A man told LaGrange police his car windows were smashed while he was at a party in the 100 block of Edgewood Drive on Saturday.

The owner showed officers where the front windshield and right, rear passenger side window to his Mercedes Benz was damaged.

The victim estimated the repair costs about $1,500.
