Ronald Lee Crawley

Mr. Ronald Lee Crawly passed away Tuesday at his home.

 

He was born September 18, 1951 to the late Carlton Crawley and Katie Mae Simpson Crawley Greenwood in West Point, Georgia.  Ronald was the baby of four children of whom two, Duane Crawley Hardrick and Mayor Oscar Crawley, preceded him in death.

Ronald was educated in the Troup County, Georgia school system and graduated from Harrison High School in West Point, Georgia, and graduated Class of 1969.  After he graduated from high school, Ronald attended Alabama State University from 1969-1971.  In 1971, Ronald decided to come out of school and start working at West Point Pepperell Manufacturing and Finishing Plant in Fairfax, Alabama for a number of years as a supervisor in the computer lab and supply room.  He also worked for Hanes in LaGrange, Georgia, as a supervisor.  He was also a member of Prince Hall Freemasonry.

Ronald accepted Christ at an early age at Love Union Baptist Church in West Point, Georgia. Later in life, he joined New Harmony CME Church in West Point, Georgia.

Survivors include his daughter, Christy (Roderick) Robinson of Fairburn, Georgia; his son, Ronald “Todd” Crawley of Austell, Georgia; his precious grandchildren, Alaina Marie Robinson and Roderick “RJ” Robinson, II of Fairburn, Georgia; sister, Dorothy Crawley Booker of North Richland Hills, Texas; three sisters-in-law: Juliette Crawley of Lanett, Alabama; Jewell Johnson Martin of Hampton, Georgia; and Linda Johnson of Augusta, Georgia; two brothers-in-law: Larry Johnson of Augusta, Georgia and Rev. Christopher Johnson of Augusta, Georgia; a devoted cousin, Johnny Walton of LaGrange, Georgia and devoted friend, Malcom Malone of Lanett, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and individuals who he touched immensely.

 

The Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday at 11:00 at New Harmony CME Church. Rev. John L. Pollard will officiate. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Lanett.
