Julia Horne Adams passed away on Thursday December 29, 2016 in Cleveland, TN.  She was born on October 10, 1916 and had just celebrated her 100th birthday.  She was preceded in death by her parents Daniel Wesley and Harriet Brooks Horne of Marietta, GA; husband-Gustavus Alonza Adams, Jr. of LaGrange, GA; grandson Tyler A. Worth of Cleveland, TN; sister Virginia Horne Tumlin of Marietta, GA and brother Daniel Wesley Horne, Jr. of Marietta, GA.

Julia is survived by her daughter and son in law Julia A. Worth and Denny K. Worth of Cleveland, TN and grandson Matthew Adams Worth of Cleveland, TN; a sister in law Elizabeth Trawick Horne of Marietta, GA and many nieces and nephews and a loving and faithful companion, Ms. Helen Boyd of Cleveland, TN.

Julia was a school teacher for 35 years in many Georgia school systems.  She moved to Cleveland, TN in December 2002.  Ms. Adams was a charter member of ADK (Alpha Delta Kappa) a teachers sorority.  She was a member of the Gleaners Sunday School Class at Wesley United Methodist Church.  Ms. Adams was a member of “Morning Light” prayer group and the Shawl Committee at Wesley.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00pm Monday, January 2, 2017 at the Franklin City Cemetery on College Street in Franklin, GA.  Reverend Brett Matthews will be officiating the service.
