The biggest weather problem Troup County residents are facing Saturday morning may be snow envy.

After reports of an expected quarter inch of ice and up to an  inch of snow, the area got by with just a trace of ice.

In LaGrange and Troup County, bridges and overpasses were reported slick at 8:30 a.m. and ice covered the trees near Mountville. A text alert from Troup County Sheriff urged caution on the roads.

County Engineer James Emery said crews were out and expected to have affected bridges treated by 11 a.m. Saturday.

“Thank goodness the forecast was wrong,” he said.

The area remains under a winter weather advisory until 1 p.m. Saturday because of the possibility of black ice.
