LaGRANGE – The Daily News’ weekly Neighbors series features one person from LaGrange and the surrounding area. This week we spoke to Tiffani Bray from LaGrange College.

LaGrange Daily News: Are you from LaGrange?

Bray: I’ve been here for 20 years, so my family is from LaGrange, from here.

LDN: What is your favorite thing about living here?

Bray: What made me decide to stay here in LaGrange is – I met my husband 20 years ago, and decided to stay here because I think it is a nice town to raise kids. I’m from the Atlanta area, and it’s a faster pace. So, we just decided to reside here to raise our kids. … It is a small, friendly, comforting town.

LDN: What do you think is the most beautiful place in LaGrange?

Bray: The downtown area is very beautiful. I mean, there is a lot of things to see. I love our fountain area. I like the amphitheater that they’ve brought here, and … LaGrange College has a lot of nice things on our campus.

LDN: What are your hobbies?

Bray: My main thing is, I like to spend a lot of time with my family. We have two kids, and we’ve been married 21 years, so we do a lot of family things. We like to do family things together. The other thing is shopping, of course that’s everybody’s favorite hobby. …But just photography is more of my hobby and my passion. It relaxes me and gives me time to myself.

LDN: What kind of businesses would you like to see open around LaGrange?

Bray: I’m excited about the stores that we do have coming. I’d like to see more stores come to the mall area. I’d like to see… just more apparel stores where you can purchase more clothing for all age groups in the family. I’d like to see more restaurants come to the area, but I’m excited about the brewery that we have coming, and the Hobby Lobby because that’s going to help out a lot with my photography, so that I don’t have to travel so far to get the things that I need. … I would like to see us have more activities in the downtown area that involve everybody. I’d also like to see a bowling alley or a skating rink (near downtown). Something more for our youth to do give them somewhere to go. Somewhere they can go that is safe and nice. … Anything for our youth that they all can be involved in and come and do. I’d like to see them bring those things to LaGrange because with so much of the gun violence that’s been going on lately and having teenage kids, there’s not really anywhere safe for them to go, and just hang out and have a nice time and be safe.
