LAGRANGE – There was no suspense this year.

Last February, the county wrestling championship wasn’t decided until the final match when Troup’s Brantly Robinson delivered the decisive victory against LaGrange.

Those same two teams were on the mat on Tuesday to determine county supremacy once again, and it was Troup rolling to the 71-0 victory.

Troup won every one of the 14 matches to earn the shutout victory, and that’s a marked turnaround from previous years when the outcome wasn’t determined until the end, or close to it.

LaGrange and Troup both topped Callaway earlier in the day.

It’s the continuation of a stellar season for Troup, which was coming off a fourth-place finish in the Class AAAA state duals in Macon after winning the Area 5-AAAA championship.

Troup improved to 41-4 this season, and it has won 38 of its previous 40 matches.

Troup has won the county championship three consecutive seasons.

In the LaGrange match, winners for Troup were Pearson Strickland, Darius Hanson, Trevor Upchurch, Brantly Robinson, Cade Garner, Chase Seals, Gavin Wood, Trey Harris, Scott Hicks, Dre Flagg, Cole Galyon, Byron Butts, Quenton Kersey and Colby Harry.
